On this night, November 22nd, 2015, at Homestead Miami Speedway in Miami, Florida, NASCAR racing legend and 4-time champion, Jeff Gordon, is hanging up his helmet.

After an illustrious career that spanned over the course of 23 years, his days behind the wheel have come to an end. He has chosen to retire, but not from the sport completely.

He will continue to work with his team, Hendrick Motorsports, just not in the driver's seat. This was a sad day for me, as Jeff is my favorite driver. He was the first thing I was ever interested in, when it comes to racing. He was the man who got me hooked on cars, and driving. Aside from Speed Racer, of course. The team will still consist of their three other drivers, Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Kasey Kahne.

Even if we won't see him driving in the regular season, at least he's still part of the team. He will leave behind a legacy in motorsport history, one that I think is legendary.

A job well done, Jeff. Congratulations, and happy retirement.
